Donation policy

How we accept, use and account for every gift.

Effective and last updated: 8 October 2026

1. Purpose

This policy sets out how Heavendoo Foundation accepts and manages donations, so that every gift is received lawfully, used responsibly and accounted for transparently.

2. Who we accept donations from

  • Indian citizens only. Under the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 2010, foreign contributions may be accepted only with FCRA registration and through a designated bank account. We do not accept donations from foreign nationals, foreign companies or other foreign sources through this website. Indian citizens living abroad (NRIs with an Indian passport) may donate in INR.
  • Individuals, companies and institutions based in India, including companies giving under their CSR obligations.
  • We decline donations that we believe come from unlawful sources, that come with conditions conflicting with our mission or values, or that would compromise our independence.

3. How we accept donations

  • Online through Razorpay on this website — UPI, debit and credit cards, netbanking and wallets.
  • Bank transfer or cheque — write to contact@heavendoo.in for our bank details.
  • Cash — we discourage cash donations and do not accept cash above ₹2,000 from one donor.
  • In-kind gifts (books, supplies, equipment) — by prior arrangement only, so we can make sure they are needed.

4. Donor identity

Indian tax law restricts anonymous donations to charitable organisations, so we record the name and contact details of every donor. You can still give quietly: we never show your name publicly unless you choose to appear on our supporters list.

5. How donations are used

  • Designated gifts: if you choose a cause (Education, Nutrition, Healthcare or Women's livelihoods), we use your gift for that cause.
  • "Where it's needed most": we direct these gifts to the most urgent need across our programmes.
  • If a programme is fully funded or cannot go ahead, we use designated gifts for the closest similar purpose, within our charitable objectives.
  • A responsible share of funds supports the field staff, monitoring, audits and administration that keep our programmes effective and accountable.

6. Receipts and tax benefits

Every donor receives a receipt by email. Tax-benefit eligibility, if any, will be stated on this website and on your receipt.

7. Recognition and privacy

  • Your first name appears on our supporters list only if you tick the box to allow it.
  • Corporate and CSR partners are acknowledged as agreed with them.
  • We never sell, rent or share donor lists. See our privacy policy.

8. Fundraising standards

We ask for support honestly. We will not use false urgency, invented figures or pressure. Stories are shared with consent; some are illustrative, and names are changed to protect privacy.

9. Accountability

We keep proper books of account, have them audited by an independent chartered accountant, and file every return the law requires.

10. Refunds and questions

Refunds are handled under our cancellation & refund policy. For any question about your donation, write to contact@heavendoo.in.
